MEET YOUR TRAINER

I started Flex and Bust Out Fitness for people a bit like me. I want a workout that isn’t just about getting the six pack or lifting tractor tires over my head. For me, it’s about the process of getting and staying motivated, the practice of kindness to myself and others, the resilience that comes with celebrating even small achievements, and the grit that can come from just showing up. There’s a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor in the phrase “flex and bust out”—representative of my approach to life, which necessitates lightness of being to endure and go the distance and to “bust out” of that funk we can find ourselves in. 

My training approach incorporates stretching, strength conditioning, calisthenics, endurance, martial arts, and boxing. I’ve been practicing martial arts and boxing for decades (I have a black belt in Taekwondo and I’ve studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kali Silat, Panantukan, Karate, Fencing, and Krav Maga). I’ve also been a runner, a weightlifter, and a coach. I’ve been through bouts of injuries and physical therapy. I’ve been demotivated and I’ve been highly motivated. With my background in martial arts, boxing, physical therapy techniques, yoga, mindfulness, and holistic wellness, I help people tap into their own strength.

WHAT WE DO

We train outdoors or on my rooftop—using boxing, bodyweight strength, cardio, and breathwork.

Sessions are fun, effective, and totally judgment-free. We focus on:

  • Zone 2 workouts using a Fitbit to monitor progress
  • Strength and cardio using your body and bands
  • Boxing and mitt work to build power and rhythm
  • Mobility and mindfulness to recover and reset

You don’t need to be in shape to start. You just need to start.

Want more? I also organize occasional “group” meetups for clients. We might meet for a hike, a run, or just for a beer. 


HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Book a free 30-minute session
We meet at Greenlake or on my rooftop (e.g. if it’s raining).

Step 2: Choose your rhythm
Pick your pace—1 hour sessions 1x/week or 3x/week—we’ll build your foundation together.

Step 3: Bust out
We’ll use Fitbit data to track your heart rate zones, celebrate your wins, and move toward real transformation—at your pace.

PRICING

  • $60 per session (45 mins – 1 hour)
  • $200 for a 4-session pack
  • First 30-minute session is always free
